Care and Maintenance
In broad terms, cleaning of externally located powder coating surfaces must take place every three months. Where salts/pollutants are more prevalent such as seaside and industrial areas, a cleaning program should be carried out more frequently.
Three steps to cleaning powder coated surfaces:
1. Remove loose deposits with a wet sponge (avoid scratching the surface by dry dusting).
2. Using a soft clean cloth and a mild detergent in warm water, clean the powder coating to remove dust, salt or other deposits.
3. Always rinse after cleaning with fresh water to remove any remaining detergent.
Warning:
Strong solvents are harmful to the extended life of the powder coated surface. In particular, solvents recommended for thinning various types of paints and also for cleaning up mastics/sealants are very harmful to powder coated layer. These and other strong solvents should not be used for cleaning purposes.
Do not rub powder coated material during cleaning.
Any damage made to the powder coated surface during transportation and/or installation can be harmful to powder coated layer.
It is not recommended to use spray or touch up paint on powder coated surface.
Non compliance with care and maintenance, use of strong solvents, damage to powder coated material, use of spray paint and other factors will render the warranty void.
